Troops - Tier 2 Wizard/Giants/Wall Breakers/Balloon 3 of 5

Troop-T2

Wizards
  • When you are doing the tutorial, a villager mentioned about the reinforcement Wizards of Wizard Ivory came to assist. However, the Wizard Ivory is not mentioned again in the future.
  • Wizards are often used by high-level players in place of Archers because of their high damage and relatively high health (when compared to Archers that will be killed in a single hit by most high level defensive buildings).
  • You can have a maximum of 60 Wizards at one time in a complete set of fully upgraded Army Camps. This number increases to 68 if you include the 8 that can fit into a fully upgraded Clan Castle.
  • On top of the Wizard Tower is also a Wizard, but it has a different way of attacking. It is not necessary to train, or even unlock, a Wizard in the Barracks in order to place the Wizard Tower.
  • Because you get Wizards in the tutorial, they are the first unit that you deploy but NOT the first unlocked for general use, which are Barbarians.
  • Along with the level 5 and 6 Wall Breaker, the Wizard is the only unit in the game capable of one-shot killing itself.
  • On a per-housing space basis, the Wizard has the highest damage per second of any Troop by a fair margin (45 damage per housing space at level 6, far ahead of the second-place level 6 Balloon at 32.6).
  • In the application package of the game, the sfx refers the wizard as 'mage'

Balloons
  • Balloons are the first aerial troop unlocked in the game.
  • Balloons are piloted by Wall Breaker units.
  • Balloons are the slowest moving troop in the game.
  • You can complete many of the single player missions using a single Balloon only, as many do not have aerial defences.
  • You can have a maximum of 48 Balloons at one time in a complete set of fully upgraded Army Camps. This number increases to 55 if you include the 7 that can fit into a fully upgraded Clan Castle.
  • Due to a peculiarity of the Balloon attack, the first bomb a Balloon drops on an individual building does damage the instant it is dropped; the last bomb it drops will do no damage.
  • Balloons "hover around" slightly while they are attacking.
  • A level 6 Balloon has the same design on its exterior as a Seeking Air Mine, which suits as a Seeking Air Mine does significant damage to level 6 Balloons.
  • Level 6 Balloons do more damage per attack then a level 1 P.E.K.K.A.
  • The research cost for a level 6 Balloon is less than the research cost of a level 6 Archer, even though level 6 Balloons have more damage per attack and more hit points.
  • The 17 Apr 2013 update granted the Balloon the ability to explode and deliver splash damage when it is shot down.
  • With the exception of the Healer (which cannot attack anything at all), the Balloon is the only unit in the game that cannot attack an enemy version of itself.
  • Balloons are best suited with multiple troops and deal major damage.
  • Although piloted by former Wall Breakers, Balloons do not use kamikaze attacks.
  • The Balloon's DPS is the same as its damage upon death.

Wall Breakers
  • The Wall Breaker is one of two Troops of which the picture in the Barracks resembles an upgraded version, the other being the Dragon.
  • If there are no Walls and you deploy a Wall Breaker, it will run to the nearest building and blow itself up. However, it will do much less damage to the building compared to what it can do against Walls, e.g. a level 5 Wall Breaker will do only 46 damage to a building, whereas it will do 1,840 damage to a Wall.
  • When Wall Breakers are sent to your Clan Castle, during an attack they will target the attackers and blow themselves up, which makes it a bad Troop to be donated for defensive purposes. When attacking, they are also pretty much useless, since they come out in large groups (like 5-10 at a time), blowing up a lot of Walls if they survive, but they may also die from a single Mortar shot. It is also quite rare for the remaining Wall Breakers to blow up the first layer of Wall and the compartment inside.
  • Wall Breakers can be useful in the Clan Castle for low level players, though. If the low level player doesn't have Wall Breakers unlocked or the Wall Breakers are low level, a high level Wall Breaker or two in the Clan can really help them.
  • You can have a maximum of 120 Wall Breakers at one time in a complete set of fully upgraded Army Camps. This number increases to 137 if you include the 17 that can fit into a fully upgraded Clan Castle.
    • Note: Having this many Wall Breakers is highly discouraged (only second to an all-Healer army) as your army will end up breaking nothing other than walls.
  • Wall Breakers take up two spaces in your Army Camp as of the March 12, 2013 update. Prior to this update the Wall Breaker took up only a single housing space.
  • Balloons are "promoted" Wall Breakers.
  • Wall Breakers looks like dead Builders since both of them have the same leather hat.

Giants
  • When you tap the Army Camp the Giants all pump their fists in and out from their chests a few times, similar to humans cracking their knuckles.
  • In game if you closely look at the Giants when they're pumping their fists you can see that they have no eyes.
  • You can have a maximum of 48 Giants at one time in a complete set of fully upgraded Army Camps. This number increases to 55 if you include the 7 that can fit into a fully upgraded Clan Castle.
  • The Giant's low damage is visually seen by the attacks with their bare fists.
  • With the exception of the Golem, the Giant has the lowest damage per housing space (8.6 DPS per housing space at level 6, just above the level 1 Archer and Barbarian at 7.0 and 8.0 respectively ).
  • The Giant's main Barracks image changed substantially as part of the "Witch" update (29 July 2013). However, this change did not affect the look of the in-game unit; when viewed in Army Camps or in battle, the Giant still has the same look as it did prior to the update.

Troops - Tier 1 Archers/Goblins/Barbs 2 of 5

Troop-T1
Archers
  • It's unknown why she has a small pouch on her belt, though it's likely to store supplies such as bow strings and water.
  • As of now, the polls are showing that this unit is the most favored by the players when raiding a base. Consequently Supercell increased the prices to upgrade them.
  • Archers are generally recognized as the most popularly requested troops for the Clan Castle.
  • When you tap on the Army Camp, the Archers stationed there all pump their right fist into the air three times.
  • You can have a maximum of 240 Archers at one time in a complete set of fully upgraded Army Camps. This number increases to 275 if you include the 35 that can fit into a fully upgraded Clan Castle. On the battlefield, you can summon 10 additional Archers with a maximum-level Archer Queen.
  • On 17 March 2013 there was a Clash-Off competition involving Archers and Valkyries:
"Chief, it’s time for a CLASH OFF!! Archer or Valkyrie? Pick your favorite and tell us why - you could win 1000 gems!!! We'll announce the winner tomorrow!"
The winning comment was made by Paula Shayne Lao Olbes, supporting Archers. She said:ClashOFF17March

Upgrade Progression
Goblins
  • Goblins are the main antagonist in the Single Player Campaign, despite the fact that you can train them as part of your army. Your own Goblins seem to have no compunction about attacking their NPC brethren.
  • When you tap on the Army Camp the Goblins stationed there all turn and look to their left for a brief moment.
  • Goblins and Minions are the fastest moving units.
  • You can have a maximum of 240 Goblins at one time in a complete set of fully upgraded Army Camps. This number increases to 275 if you include the 35 that can fit into a fully upgraded Clan Castle.
  • The Goblins from the Single Player Campaign look the same as the Goblin troop; however, they don't attack and immediately retreat into the Town Hall, in a similar fashion to the Villagers and Builders in players' bases.
  • While Goblins do carry a sack, any loot they steal goes straight to your storages just like it would when any other unit attacked a resource building.
  • They are the only known unit to be faster than a Spring Trap. This does not mean they are the only troop that is not affected by the Spring Trap.
  • The Goblins from the Single Player Campaign will attack defenses first, but your Goblins will attack Resource Buildings first.
  • The Clan Castle and Town Hall are not one of the Goblins' favorite targets even though they may contain loot.
  • Although Builder's Huts are considered resource buildings, they are not one of the Goblins' favorite targets.

Barbs
  • Barbarians will be spawned when the Iron Fist ability of the Barbarian King is used. The barbarians spawned and other barbarians around the Barbarian King will also be raged.
  • Of the three Tier 1 troops (Barbarian, Archer, Goblin) the Barbarian has the highest health and does the second-most damage (Goblins of similar level have higher damage per second). He is also the slowest-moving but fastest to train.
  • When you tap on an Army Camp, all the Barbarians stationed there will briefly raise their swords.
  • Along with the Goblin, the Barbarian is the cheapest Elixir-based troop in the game.
  • You can have a maximum of 240 Barbarians at one time in a complete set of fully upgraded Army Camps. This number increases to 275 if you include the 35 that can fit into a fully upgraded Clan Castle. On the battlefield, you can summon 10 additional Barbarians with a maximum-level Barbarian King.
  • When Barbarians become aware of hostile units such as Clan Castle reinforcements and Heroes (generally by being attacked or being close to another unit being attacked), they will stop what they are doing and attack them. Once the enemy troops have been defeated they will proceed to attack the nearest buildings from their current location -- they will not (necessarily) return to their prior target.
  • The Barbarian is considered to be the primary troop of Clash of Clans due to it representing the logo for the app.
  • If you look closely at the Barbarian on the logo of the app you will notice that one of its eyes (our left) is damaged.
  • The level 6 Barbarian greatly resembles the Dragonborn from the Skyrim trailer.

Troops

Troops are divided into Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, Dark Elixir Troops, and Heroes.
  • Tier #1 - Barbarians, Archers, and Goblins.
  • Tier #2 - Giants, Wall Breakers (skeletons that carry bombs), Balloons (Wall Breakers in hot air balloons that drop bombs), and Wizards.
  • Tier #3 - Dragons, Healers, and P.E.K.K.A.s (heavily armored sword wielding mechas).
  • Dark Elixir Troops - Golems, Hog Riders, Minions (flying imps), Valkyries, and Witches.
  • Heroes - Barbarian King and Archer Queen. Heroes are immortal and can only be trained once. They are summoned by an altar rather than being trained in the barracks used to train all other troops.

War Bases, or war fails!

Ok im going to write about war bases. And how they should be setup only because I've been looking at our some what static bases, that keep getting slammed on clan wars.

What is most important on the design?!
Clan castle absolute middle of the base there are the hardest bases to break and win stars on.
Clan castle in the absolute center. Middle! Midriff!

Next to the perfectly placed clan castle is. Barb king and archer queen!
Next to them is preferably your townhall. Of which will be surrounded by defences and walls etc.

These are the best pointers i can give you as long as these are in The dead center of the base not much else matters.

Apart from everything !!!! So this game has so much strategy are we just aren't doing it.

Ok in the perfect scenario teslas should be together. Two by two.
Big bombs together two by two.
In alternating corners on your base or areas in between other defences.
All jump pads and all small bombs near your townhall. Yes this sounds strange but if they hog you its the last thing generally they hit and wont get three stars.!
Aird bombs etc near... wait for it the air d!!! Doesn't make sense except it does ! The more dps on flying units the better and all in quick succession.

Mortars spread in a triangle
Air d also in a triangle.
Wizard towers in a square for townhall 9+. Townhall 8 in a triangle of each other.
Then alternating cannons and archer towers around the base.
You would ultimately have a triangle with some rough edges.

Look no one is perfect but this is just some hints for helping us and yourself of guaranteeing that loot for wars !

Thanks for reading and clash on.

Bunch of random bases

Some good defence others not so good... Just for lols ill comment...
Some good walls in there... and good mortars.. I didn't attack it.

Not worth attacking for me specially using B/A/M

Cwallace's Doobie base... actually does some work... he had 10+ defences.

I just smashed his townhall again with B/A/M cant do much..

Nice resources but nothing easy for me...

This was a sweet looking base.

Looks like a bear... kinda cool apart from its pink! maybe a wolf...

Seeing a few more of these bases where the walls aren't closed up are open and blocking rather than closed. Looks to work as I didn't bother... haha

Looks like this guys still got the glitch cash :S bastard.

Our boy hayden with his almost maxed th7... well done bud..

What the hell is this guy thinking... ? ! I have no idea...

Loving the walls DragonBorn.

Sweet base with those walls, random in places
